I wanted to put up a sticky post (ignore the year) to let anyone know who visits my LJ that I will probably be updating this blog infrequently, if not at all, in the coming weeks. I'm dealing with a family crisis, waiting for a lot of questions to be answered. There are a lot of things I just don't know at this point.

I'll still be checking e-mail so feel free to drop me a line, and I may check in around the blogosphere at times, I don't know...just taking things one at a time for the moment.

Men In Uniform

What is it about men at work and the uniforms they wear? What makes them so sexy? So yummy? So hot? So drool-worthy? So...well, you get the picture.

I'm guest blogging about that very thing  over at Jeanne Barrack's The Sweet Flag today, talking about a few of my favorite men in uniform and why I think they're so attractive.

So feel free to stop over and tell me why you think uniforms are sexy (or not, if that's your cup of tea) and what uniform really gets your heart pounding. ;)

ZA Maxfield and I are guest blogging over at Nose in the Book blog today, talking about out some of our favorite m/m characters. We did a manlove draft, picked our A-teams, and we're ready to rumble.

Stop on over and see who made our teams!

So I'm sure you've all been wondering where I've been. Right? RIGHT? (Cue creepy "I'm baaaaaack.")

I wish I had some outlandish story to tell about what I've been up to, but the truth is I've been right here. Figuring Things Out. Whatever that means.

I've been thinking a lot in the last month. The kind of staring out the window, where the hell did my day go thinking. And I've come to some  conclusions (both serious and not, and in no particular order):

-My neighbor across the street is very probably eating small children.

-I'm inherently lazy when it comes to certain things. I don't mind scrubbing and dusting, but I put off doing my laundry for weeks if I can. The laundry room? It's a jungle in there.

-I don't mind crying on a stranger's shoulder about my nephew's death, which is really a very odd experience. I go to this grief group thing--my whole family goes--and I think it really helps. Though they're strangers, we're connected in loss. It's kind of like a family you never wanted.

-My oldest sister is the strongest woman I know. Seriously.

-Pumpkin is like crack to me. And since Thanksgiving to Christmas is the time when pumpkin stuff is everywhere, it's not safe for me in the grocery store. Pies, cookies, bread, cake, I love it all. I've been eating so much pumpkin stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if I started to turn orange. And speaking of orange...

-Some guys think going to a college basketball game in a speedo, body painted blue and orange, and belching the school fight song is perfectly normal.  Just saying.

-My family laughs a lot. A LOT. Like can't breathe, stomach hurting, people giving us funny looks laughter. Even when we're sad. It's probably a little strange to some, but I think it's good for the soul.

-Misspeaking and saying "ejaculation" instead of "ejection" when speaking with your mother is Very Embarrassing.

And I've also been wondering about some things. Like blogging for example. How much is effective? What is even considered effective? Does an author blog to increase sales, buzz, etc? Can an author blog just to connect with people out there who share a common interest? Is blogging by an author about personal stuff okay? Should it all read like a press release? Do readers want blog posts that are silly? Random? About real life issues? Book recs? I guess you could say I've been thinking about my own bloggin going forward.

So all in all, I guess you could say November was a thinking month for me. Okay, I know what you're gonna say: you only think one month a year?

Of course not. How ridiculous. April's usually a thinking month for me too.
